Morgan swimmers compete at Region 13 Championships

Thursday, Feb. 1, Morgan’s swimmers traveled to the Region 13 Championships at the Wasatch Aquatic Center in Heber City. They returned home with 40 PRs, eight new school records, and a 1-2 finish in the 100-yard breaststroke. Brielle Sill won the Region title in the 100-yard breaststroke with Lizzy Bess finishing second.
Both the boys and girls teams took fourth with Union, Ogden, and South Summit placing first, second, and third in both the boys and girls competitions. Ben Lomond took fifth place in the girls meet with Grantsville placing sixth. In the boys meet, Grantsville placed fifth and Ben Lomond sixth.
With the 40 PRs being set by swimmers in the meet, Coach Kerrie Gordon surpassed 1,000 PRs in her career as coach of the Morgan Swim Team.
In addition to all of the new Personal Records, eight new Morgan High School Records were set.
Next up for the Trojans will be the 3A State Championships, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 16-17 at BYU.
