Morgan swim team dives into season with strong performances

MORGAN—The Morgan swim team opened their season Nov. 6, 2024 with a meet at Union High School. Of the 41 swimmers on the team, 21 are new this year. Two days later, the Trojans traveled to Ogden for a Region 13 Invitational. Times continued to drop as the swimmers put in their miles.

HERRIMAN – At the 3A semifinals, senior Macie Burton got two bites of the apple on free kicks, sending the second one rocketing into the net to upset No. 1 Judge Memorial Catholic 2-1 at Zions Bank Stadium. Two days later, Burton scored her second free kick in three days and helped Morgan defeat Ogden to win its second 3A state championship in four years.

Morgan golf team captures 2nd Place at State Championships

MORGAN—Morgan captured second place in the 3A State Championship Tournament that was played Oct. 16-17 at The Ridge Golf Course in West Valley. Senior Lance Loughton repeated as the medalist. Freshman Jace Benson tied for third individually, and sophomore Caleb Rees finished tied for seventh.
