On Dec. 9, the Ovation Choir of Morgan High School embarked on a festive field trip to Salt Lake City. The class met at the front of the school early on Saturday afternoon and boarded a bus for the Church History Museum located at Temple Square.
Weeks prior to the event, the students rehearsed a number of songs and Christmas carols in preparation for the performance, under the instruction of Choir director Sadie Julander. At the museum auditorium, the Choir sang the following: Welcome Christmas, Dashing Through The Snow, Lully Lulla Lullay, Up on the House Top, Silent Night, Deck the Hall, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, and I'll Be Home for Christmas.
Throughout the day, the Choir took group pictures on the Temple Square premises. After the performance in the auditorium, students had the opportunity to visit City Creek Mall to shop and eat dinner together. Later they regrouped at the Salt Lake Tabernacle to watch a Concert Choir Performance by West Jordan High School.
“These students are incredible,” Julander said. “The progress they have made so far this year has been such a delight to see as their director, and I couldn't be prouder! They did a good job with their performance. More importantly, they are coming together as a group of not just performers, but supporters of music and friends. I'm so lucky to be their teacher!” λ
