Two local artists share talents to bring Christmas joy

Jennifer Vesper and Krista Johansen are well known throughout the Morgan Valley for their beautifully decorated cakes along with impressive character cakes. But more recently their talents have helped decorate display windows for both Macy’s Department Store and South Jordan City. 

This year, both talented artists used candy to make 42-inch ornaments for Macy’s display window. This is Johansen’s second year making an ornament while Vesper, in her fifth year, made two ornaments for the display window. Both of Vesper’s cables snapped and the spheres crashed to the ground. “It wasn’t anyone’s fault,” said Vesper. “They are the same ones they have used to secure our ornaments every year. No one is sure why they failed…and only mine failed. Same weight as always and same weight as everyone else.” 

These ornaments, along with several others can be seen in the Downtown Macy’s window from now through Christmas. λ
