Ronald Wayne Crouch

Ron Crouch – husband, dad, grandpa, brother and friend passed away peacefully at his home in Lost Creek on Nov. 15, 2023, lovingly surrounded by his family. Ron was born Jan. 27, 1950 to Wayne and Mabel Crouch in Ogden, Utah.  His life was spent on the Crouch Ranch in Lost Creek.

From an early age, Ron frequently spent weekends with his cousins in Croydon or at the Crouch Ranch with his dad and grandparents. Whether he was cutting hay, or caring for livestock, Ron could be found smiling, whistling or teasing his mother and sisters.

Ron attended Morgan High School where he loved math and playing basketball and football. Upon graduating, he joined the US Air Force Reserves where he served as a loadmaster on aircraft supplying US troops.  After his service, Ron began his 39-year career in construction. Initially, Ron worked in surveying for UDOT. He was then recruited by private-sector construction companies that recognized his talent. He spent his career working for JB Parson Companies, Staker Paving, and retiring from Old Castle Materials. Ron built relationships all over the world throughout his career, the friendships that he made were treasured throughout his life.

In 1969, Ron married DeAnne Butters. They were married for 25 years and had three amazing children. They later divorced, but remained friends. While Ron was working, raising a family and helping on the family ranch, he went to college and completed his bachelor’s degree in Business.

In 1998 Ron married his soul-mate, Elizabeth “E.”  They spent many wonderful years traveling with family and friends. Some of their favorite destinations were Hawaii, New Zealand, Italy, and fishing trips to Alaska.

Ron loved the outdoors. He enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, and roaming the roads of Lost Creek in his side-by-side. Ron could always be found walking his dogs. Often these walks turned into roadside conversations with friends and neighbors.

Family was everything to Ron. “Man-Cave” get-togethers, where great food was created and shared, bonded the family with laughter and stories. Ron’s wisdom, hard work, positive attitude and jokes will live on in his children and grandchildren.
Ron is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Nielson, loyal dog Charlie, his children Justin Crouch (Heidi), Tiffany Netz (Shawn) and Amy Ward (Ken); sisters Diana Williams, Judy Ousley, Jeanne Crouch (Lindagail Campbell), and Janette Johnson; grandchildren Jaycee (Thomas), Riley (Chloe), Jentrie (Kaleb), Brennon (Aspen), Chaston, Kaybree and 0.9 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
